gYM

Plymouth Life Centre gym is a friendly environment where you can improve your fitness, strength and wellbeing. Activities at Plymouth Life Centre incude over 150 carefully selected pieces of gym equipment, a free weights area and a full programme of exercise classes, we have everything you need to achieve your personal goals.

JUNIOR GYM

Suitable for children aged from 11 to 15 years, these gym and studio-based sessions help to improve general fitness and to promote healthy lifestyles. 

Please note all juniors will need to attend a face to face induction before using the gym. No juniors are allowed to use the free weights section, they will be asked to leave this area and to only use resistance machines as show in the junior induction.

45-minute sessions available 15.45 – 16:30, 16.45 – 17.30 Monday to Friday.

PARENT SUPERVISED JUNIOR GYM SESSIONS

These gym and studio-based sessions are specifically designed for children aged 11-15 and are ideal for improving general fitness and promoting healthy lifestyles. Participants must, however, be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times – ideally training alongside them.

60-minute sessions available 6.00am – 8.00pm every day (except Saturdays and Sunday 7.00 – 9pm).

GYM SESSIONS

Bookings can be made via our Plymouth Active app or here on the website. Our induction process is also carried out online and this must be completed before booking your session. Whilst visiting the centre we request that you adhere to all social distancing, cleaning signage and requests. Please, on completion of using any of the equipment in the gym ensure that it is thoroughly cleaned ready for the next member to use, cleaning products can be found at various locations in the gym.

Open 6.00am -10.00pm every day (Except Saturday and Sunday 7.00 – 10.00pm).

PERSONAL TRAINING

An individual or group session for either 30 or 60 minutes. For increased motivation and support to ensure you achieve your goals quicker. For more information on our fantastic Personal Training services please contact us.

Swim Sessions

Last admissions are 30 minutes before pool closes.
Under 8s: Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or adult over 18 years, with a maximum of 2 children per 1 adult
Under 5s: Children under 5 years old swim for FREE

LANE SWIMMING 50M POOL

A structure lane-based session for confident swimmers able to swim continuously in a lane. Fin, snorkel and paddle friendly.

Swimmers must be able to swim continuously in a lane. Customer will spend most of their session swimming front crawl, and on average will complete 25 metres in under 30 seconds. This is a session designed for competent swimmers, if a child is swimming in the lanes the same standards are expected with continuous swimming and not stopping the flow of the lane.

5-A-SIDE FOOTBALL

The best thing about football is that it can be played anywhere from your back garden to your local park. It is also a great workout and can be a lot of fun and playing football increases your aerobic capacity and helps keep your heart healthy. It also helps lower your body fat, improve your muscle tone and increase your strength, flexibility and endurance.

We have 12 courts available for use.

BADMINTON

A game with rackets in which a shuttlecock is hit back and forth across a net. It’s a great way to get the blood pumping and is a fantastic game to play with friends.

A game played between two teams of five players in which points are scored by throwing a ball through a netted hoop fixed at each end of the court.

FUTSAL

Futsal (also known as fútsal or footsal) is a variant of association football played on a hard court, smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper.

SHORT TENNIS

Tennis played on a small court with a small racket and a soft ball, used especially as an introduction to the game for children. We have courts available for casual hire at specific times of the week.

Climbing Wall

With a variety of different routes suitable for climbers of all ages and abilities, as well as a number of different sessions to suit everyone, you’re sure to love the challenge.

Auto Belays

Our auto belays are perfect for more experienced climbers who just want to rock up and take on our walls. As long as you’ve been briefed on how to use them, you’re free to make use of them whenever you’re with us.

High Ropes

Our high ropes course is an aerial assault course for anyone aged seven and up. The whole facility can be booked as part of a party package, or you can enjoy it during the select times we run open sessions during the school holidays. At the moment, the high ropes are not open during term time, unfortunately.
