UK active Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award Finalist

UK active Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award Finalist

We’re proud to announce that Plymouth Active Leisure has been named a finalist in the UKactive Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award 2026.

This national recognition celebrates organisations that are committed to creating opportunities for everyone to be active, healthy and included. Being shortlisted reflects our dedication to ensuring that our facilities, programmes and services are welcoming, accessible and inclusive for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. From delivering dedicated SEND and para-swimming pathways, ladies-only swim sessions for women from Islamic backgrounds, and GP Referral and Good Boost programmes, to providing fully accessible fitness facilities and working in partnership with the NHS, we are committed to removing barriers and making physical activity accessible to everyone. Our school swimming programme also reaches 87% of schools across Plymouth, helping more children gain confidence in and around the water regardless of their background or circumstances.
This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to creating welcoming spaces, supporting diverse communities and colleagues, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the physical, mental and social benefits of leading an active lifestyle.

This achievement would not have been possible without our incredible colleagues, members, customers and partners who help make inclusion a reality every day. Together, we continue to create opportunities for more people across Plymouth to get active, build confidence and improve their wellbeing.

We are honoured to be recognised on a national stage and proud to stand alongside other organisations that are driving positive change across the physical activity sector.

Thank you to everyone who supports our vision of making physical activity accessible for all.
