Bowls

Bowls has a proud and vibrant home at Plymouth Life Centre, where our facility includes an 8 rink indoor bowls hall to cater for players of all ages and abilities. The Plymouth Life Centre Indoor Bowls Club, originally founded in 1969 and relocated to its current purpose built hall in 2011, currently boasts around 650 members and offers a full calendar of social, coaching and competitive opportunities. Beginners can join coaching sessions (contact via the club’s “Coaching for Beginners” page) and then move into internal leagues such as Ladies, Men’s, Mixed, Summer and Wednesday Pairs, or represent the club in county and national competitions, inter club matches and friendlies. The club also supports disabled bowlers, including those with visual impairments, and members have competed in national disability bowls events (for example, reaching finals in the Disability Bowls England open pairs)

We are affiliated with the English Indoor Bowling Association (EIBA) (the national governing body for indoor bowls) and encourage members to also engage with Bowls England (which governs the wider sport including outdoor/indoor formats) and Disability Bowls England for disability specific competitions and support.
